Membership

Rickmansworth Archery Club, incorporating Rickmansworth Company of Archers, is keen to welcome new members, both adults and juniors alike.  We work hard in offering archery as a fun experience and welcome archers using Traditional, Bare, Recurve and Compound Bows.  Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate archers using Crossbows.

For safety reasons only wooden, carbon/aluminium and aluminium arrows may be used during outdoor shooting, however, for indoor shooting carbon arrows may also be used.

If you have not shot for some time and wish to get back into the sport, we will ask you to come and shoot with us for a short safety assessment; we can then, if appropriate, also advise on equipment or possible additional tuition.

Annual Club membership fees

The total annual fee payable is based on the individual archer’s participation preferences.  Participation preferences are derived from whether you wish to join as “a competitive archer” or “a recreational archer”.

There is an Annual Club Membership fee which is separate and distinct from all other necessary fees (e.g., insurance) and optional fees (e.g., indoor shooting fee).  This Annual Club Membership is set by the Club and adjusted from time to time per the Club’s Constitution.  Other items such as the insurance fees, indoor shooting fees and county society (HAS) affiliation fees, are set via the relevant external organisations and so are beyond the control of the Club.

SeNIORJUNIOR (U21)/Disabled
Annual Club Membership Fee (2024-25) £65.00 £55.00
Insurance (2024-25) £10.00 £10.00
HAS Fee (2024-25) £4.00 £4.00
Recreational Archer (Outdoor Only) £79.00 £69.00
Associate Members:£75 (Seniors) per annum£65 (Juniors U21/Disabled)

Optional Winter Indoor Shooting

If you also wish to shoot indoors, then there is an additional charge to cover the cost of renting the Sports Hall.  You do not have to pay this if you just wish to shoot outdoors.

SeNIORJUNIOR (U21)/Disabled
Indoor Shooting Fee (optional) £85.00 £85.00

So, for example, for a Senior Outdoor Only Recreational archer, the total payable fee would be £79.00 and for a Senior Outdoor and Indoor Recreational archer the total payable fee would be £164.00.

Shooting at external events

If you are a competitive archer and, as a consequence, you wish to participate in tournaments run by Archery GB or any Archery GB affiliated club, then you need to pay your Archery GB membership fee and your county association (HAA) and region (SCAS) affiliation fees in addition to the fees above.  This is your choice and your responsibility.  You need to pay your Archery GB membership fee to Archery GB directly.  Your HAA and SCAS fees must be paid to the Club.  You will only need to do this if it is applicable to your participation preferences.
